Consistency

Well it has been a while since I posted but really there wasn’t much to post about, I guess.  I have lost 8 lbs. in all so far and that is much better than the 1 pound per week I had planned on.  I know this will catch up with me soon and I’ll probably go to 1 pound a week or even plateau at some point.  I’m trying to get my brain ready for that happening so I don’t freak out.  🙂    I truly feel like I am going to do it this time.  As I add more and more exercise into my routine, I’ll feel better and better.  I am looking forward to real spring when I can plant my little garden and hanging baskets.  I want to do more things to get me outside and getting a bit of exercise at the same time.  I look forward to the time when I can actually walk the Springweather trails without having to stop every 5 minutes … and then looking forward to actually taking some real hikes.  It has been so long since I could actually go on real hikes … would like to eventually do some backpacking … but that will be a long time before I get to that point.  But it is a goal of mine.  Sometimes I wonder why I’m even trying to get to points like that at my age.  But, overall, I’m pretty healthy, all things considered.  My lab results are usually all normal.  My heart seems to be working okay.  My only concern are the mini-strokes I had that we don’t know exactly when I had them.  Other than that, my weight is really the only thing keeping me from doing things like hiking and backpacking.  I just hope that with the arthritis in my knees, that won’t ultimately keep me from doing major hiking.  I hope most of the pain is from my weight bearing down on them and that they will be much better once I lose a lot of weight.  That’s it for today’s post.  I may add more later if I think of more to say.  🙂
